Seems that two common chemicals have the ability to cause cancer cells to undergo apoptosis (I.E. they die!).
The two chemicals are DCA (dichloroacetate) and Resveratrol. DCA is a byproduct of water chlorination, while resveratrol is found in red wines.
This bring up an interesting point. Up until the last ten to twenty years, most of Rhode Island water supplies weren’t chlorinated. At the same time we had a very interesting trend of cancer clusters, breast cancer being fairly high on the list. I’d love to see a study done on cancer rates since chlorination.
So in essence, if you want to stay cancer free drink more water, and more red wine!
