*** UPDATE ***
Found this little clip from the special on YouTube. It’s one of the more galling segments. I imagine it won’t be long before the entire special is on YouTube.

*** END UPDATE ***

So I get home from running errands this morning, and still have some to do this afternoon, one of which is waiting for Cox to get someone out here only to find that the problem I’d reported isn’t a problem anymore.

Anyhow I’m going through the HBO channels and I come across something on HBO-E (Channel 200 on Cox-RI) that irks me but I have to watch because it’s kind of like a train wreck. The show is one hour long and called Friends of God: A Road Trip. The show is written/produced/directed by Alexandra Pelosi, a San Francisco native and I’d be willing to lay a bet that she’s house Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s daughter. Oh happy day!

What irks me most is the young kids saying they don’t believe in evolution. How the hell could they believe when they’ve only been exposed to the tip of the iceberg. And when the kids are asked who told them that evolution was bunk the answer didn’t surprise me. It was their parents.

Then of course there are the home schoolers who want to inculcate the message of Christianity into their kids before they’re even in pre-school. Those people should have child abuse charges filed against them.

As Richard Dawkins likes to point out, they aren’t Christian children, they’re children. A child has no reference point to evaluate religion so like Dawkins I consider forcing it on them to be wrong.

The other day a co-worker and I got on this very subject. He mentioned that his daughter is nearly two years old and he and his wife have no intention of baptizing her in the Catholic faith or any other until such time as she’s old enough to understand religion. I’m so glad I work with enlightened people.

If you’ve got EOD/VOD on your cable provider, or a DVR I recommend recording this little gem. So be careful while channel surfing, you might find something that raises your blood pressure and foreshadows the Christian Theocracy that’s coming to the United States.
